One of the things I failed to explain when i wrote this is how the coins connect to it all.

The coins, which are the tears of mnemosyne, where fashioned from a piece odd the osiris stone that was cybele, the mother goddess, who fell to the earth as a black stone

I may ramble so please excuse me.

The connection between Ada of Caria, the Osiris stone and the Temple of Siwa
What connects them is the Tear of Mnemosyne.

Hear me out. I think Alexander was on a journey to find snake temples because he may have believed that they held the key to recursion/immorality. and Ada of Caria, or at least her history, is a part of that.
You ask why snakes. I think I can answer that.

Some cultures regarded snakes as immortal because they appeared to be reincarnated from themselves when they sloughed their skins. Snakes were often also associated with immortality because they were observed biting their tails to form a circle and when they coiled they formed spirals. Both circles and spirals were seen as symbols of eternity. ( ttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snakes_in_mythology ) Ouroboros, anyone?

And on Alexander’s journey to Siwa, one story tells of two serpents leading Alexander and his troop to Siwa after they had gotten lost, where Alexander was told by the Oracle that he was the Pharaoh of Egypt.

So now what do temples and snakes and Ada have in common? As crazy as this sounds, Mother Goddesses. Rhea, Isis, Gaia, Demeter and finally Cybele. Alexander was know, and may have built a few temples to a Mother Goddess or two. Alexander was searching for these temples to find one thing.
The fountain of Youth. Which I don’t think was an actual fountain. I believe the fountain of Youth was a metaphor for what he was really looking for. Tears.

So fountains are typically filled with water. Tears are composed of water (and a few other things). Mnemosyne is the goddess of Memories. What are memories? A vision of our past. Our youth, if you will. So the tears of Mnemosyne are memories of events that Alexander needed to find. If I were to use Hank Johnson’s term here, Alexander was searching for his “breadcrumbs.” Which were hidden, at the time, within temples that had Oracles or Sibyls

So now for the curve ball. The Osiris stone. I think Osiris was the first to use the stone for the purposes of recursion. But I am not so sure that the stone is technically his stone. I think it is Cybele’s. “At Pessinos in Phrygia, the mother goddess—identified by the Greeks as Cybele—took the form of an unshaped stone of black meteoric iron”

Now to put this altogether.

Alexander was searching for his breadcrumbs (Tears of Mnemosyne) that may have been hidden by Oracles at various temples, including the temple at Siwa and at Delphi. These Tears are actually part of the Osiris stone which was actually the Mother Goddess Cybele. His need for Ada was because she could help him gain access, more easily, to the temple in Halicarnassus where Ada used to reign but was usurped by her younger brother. All she requested was to govern Caria again. Giving Caria back to Ada, as well as letting her adopt him, allowed him to finish his search.

Tell me what you think.
