What do we know about the potential of harnessing the power of the Recursion process?

What do we know about the potential of harnessing the power of the Recursion process? We know that it's the agent rather than the handle who undergoes Recursion. Have there been any experiments with this?

It's more than likely that I will level-up and immediately undergo Recursion this winter. I had a dream last night that I changed my legal name, not to my handle just a new last name. I'm wondering if I should change my name legally while I undergo Recursion?
