Notice to all Essex investigators:

Notice to all Essex investigators:

Operation: Essex is a vessel of discovery of the unknown. As we navigate the mysteries of the Niantic Project and Ingress, many paths and options lie before us. We welcome all who seek the truth in these matters. We all have something to offer and having contrasting viewpoints helps us dig deeper. As we contribute to this community, the following guidelines will maintain the integrity of Essex.

1. An investigation can produce strong opinions, so please don't take disagreements personally. If you do disagree with the logic of a fellow investigator, do so respectfully.

2. Be modest in your line of thinking. There isn't always a right or wrong way to interpret things. Be open minded to all facts, opinions, ideas, stories, data, and information presented to you. You're an investigator determining your own conclusions, not an instigator, accusing fellow agents.

3. Good ideas are not always supported. The best way to gain support is by backing a statement with compelling evidence and research. The most respected investigators consistently present their thoughts in this way.

4. Support this community by being a part of it. If you feel that some topic doesn't get the attention it deserves, build a compelling reason why it should. If you decide to make your own community instead, you have every right to do so, but posts that direct attention to that community undermine our focus and will be removed.

5. Our founder, Edgar Allan Wright, sets a good example in not abusing his authority over this community. The moderators also avoid blocking or removing posts without a clearly expressed reason. With those examples in mind, taking a position of telling Essex what to do, even if well-intended, is frowned upon.

Thank you for your consideration of these guidelines. Please share your thoughts and suggestions, and by all means, keep up the good work.
