A Visit to DC
This past weekend I found myself in the DC area for a work conference. This presented an opportunity to do an investigation into the murder of Ken Owens and ongoing events. Much to my surprise a random shard appeared in the area after the first round of Exo5, adding to this mystery.
First I followed in the footsteps of Owens as he was corralled to his fate. I walked from Fords theatre to the Foggy Bottom station, ending at the Kennedy Center. The area is an incredible maze of walkways,with countless security staff nearby and plenty of public facilities that could have offered sanctuary for Owens, yet he still was manoeuvred to the exact spot where his “change of address” took place. In front of Kennedy Center, where Owens was killed, exists a portal with two large bronze panels, "Amerika" and "War or Peace."
In the panel entitled "Amerika," we see a testament to US history with the enlightenment ideals that gave birth to the new nation. The next panel, called " "War or Peace," shows the contrast between war and peace, as if presenting a choice.Ken Owens, spin master for the NIA, was taken out in front of War, by 855.
His assassination wasn’t the first act of violence to occur on these grounds. An attempt was made here on the life of OLW after the Cassandra Anomaly in Washington, D.C. OLW lost that day and was driven down a long and winding path for vengeance- ultimately, I believe, to the situation we find ourselves now with the Tecthulhu and the emergence of the Exogenous Entities. What he said back then came to mind staring at the War panel of Amerika:
“I am transcending this existence on my own terms..and when I emerge he will crumble and burn to ash under my gaze”- OLW
After OLWs transcendence the world was shaken by the emergence of Tecthulhus- and Owens is killed in the very spot where OLWs threats emerged.Its like 1914 all over again, Owens death was the first in a horrible chain of events. Calvin and Phillips were the next to fall...Things are indeed crumbling to ash..This leads us to where we are now, with the choice given to Hank Johnson to become the new head of the NIA.
Hank Johnson, do you remember why you were freed from the Magnus? The Enlightened did this so that you could find the all-Enlightened “13MAGNUS” you are destined to be a part of. You have earned the respect of many agents from both factions, and are a natural leader whom many would follow. In making your decision, consider that your choice could lead to “War or Peace” for many. Perhaps a new Magnus is the key to solving this mystery, and if being the head of the NIA could help you accomplish this, perhaps it is a worthwhile pursuit..but..There simply are far too factors at play here for the clear and logical choice to present itself. As an Essex researcher I can honestly say that looking at things first hand only raised more questions and possibilities. Perhaps You should seek out the advice of an Oracle..
The shard is another matter entirely. When I came upon it, there were no discernible images as there were with previous shards, and I was the only one there.. Or so I thought..I turned the corner to see a rather familiar looking vehicle circling the block. For all of us, make no mistake, these shards are being watched. Im sure Hank as you make your decision you are being watched as well, stay safe.
