This is one of the first calibration grid tests that are currently being conducted. This version represents a 3 dimensional grid with 21 calibration points.

As you can see the grid lines up when rotated about it's horizontal axis every 90°. When rotated through it's vertical axis it only lines up at 180°.

Could the fact the grid only lines up on one axis indicate a direction? Like the grid is pointed at something when the instructions are executed. Similar to how the portal key system works?

There would be several ways for the lines of the glyphs to be laid out. We hope rotating the grid would give other glyphs not yet seen.

Also with the idea of combining glyphs to expand their meanings as 
Anthony Castanza has mentioned could represent possible control functions of the portals yet to be explored.
