The Collapse of the Great Hall

While looking into H. Richard Loeb s post (https://plus.google.com/+HRichardLoeb/posts/UCd9aLj7gTv) about a Scopas and the way he was remembered in death, i stumbled onto a Poet called Simonides.

You can look here for some information on Simonides and where i got most of my information from. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simonides_of_Ceos

Among the most colourful of his "ignorant" patrons was the head of the Scopadae clan, named Scopas. Fond of drinking, convivial company and vain displays of wealth, this aristocrat's proud and capricious dealings with Simonides are demonstrated in a traditional account related by Cicero[17] and Quintilian,[18] according to which the poet was commissioned to write a victory ode for a boxer. Simonides embellished his ode with so many references to the twins Castor and Pollux (heroic archetypes of the boxer) that Scopas told him to collect half the commissioned fee from them—he would only pay the other half.[19] Simonides however ended up getting much more from the mythical twins than just a fee: he owed them his very life (see Miraculous escapes). According to this story he was called out of the feast hall to see two visitors who had arrived and were asking for him – presumably Castor and Pollux. As soon as he left the hall, it collapsed, killing everyone within. These events were said to have inspired him to develop a system of mnemonics based on images and places called the method of loci. The method of loci is one component of the Art of memory.

Simonides was not only present the night this Scopas died, but it almost sounds too good to be true that he left the dining hall right before it collapsed and killed Scopas. Maybe Scopas death had been planned by the poet, Castor, and Pollux. Castor and Pollux are the twins sons of Zeus and representations of the Gemini meaning this Poet was already involved with beings that were considered god like.... If we look into the Zodiac at the moment, which was pointed out to me by Ariel Diana, you will see that at this point in time there is believed to be 13 Zodiacs much like our 13 Archetypes..... What were Pollux and Castor to Simonides?

I find it interesting that right after the Scopas death Simonides created a method that we have been becoming very familiar with and that Edgar Allan Wright has asked us questions about, a mind palace... The Method of Loci is a method of enhancing ones memories in similar ways to a mind palace and is considered a mind palace technique. (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Method_of_loci_) To me i wonder if this event was specifically planned so he could create this method and if there were more people involved in Scopas demise than we have been informed of.

Simonides was his innovation as a Poet and his family oddly has long lives. He lived much longer than people did in his time, died in his 90s, though its unclear when he was actually born. The article above notes that even his grandfather, who was also named Simonides, lived past a hundred years.... I have to wonder if they were in fact different people though.... They both shared the same skills in poetry, and i have to wonder if Simonides may have recursed or possibly not been who everyone thought he was. Maybe he is our first example of a Tycho like Tecthulhu and the incident that happened at Scopas home involved a Magnus.

Again this is only speculation but... Some of it seems too good to be true. I hope this will be explored more.
