Museums are are among the places with the highest portal densities we know, and they are often limited only by the minimum safety distance between portals.

As Wikipedia notes the word Museum is derived from the Ancient Greek Μουσεῖον (Mouseion), which denotes a place or temple dedicated to the Muses (the patron divinities in Greek mythology of the arts).

Combining this with the research of Hank Johnson and Martin Schubert, I think this indicates that the below interpretation might just be spot on.
