Gaius Plinius Secundus, more commonly known to us as Pliny the Elder, is likely to be incredibly significant, if not central to the upcoming anomaly.
First, his travels took him to many of the locations of the Obsidius breadcrumbs or alluded to in the background images: Xanten, Germania Inferior, the Batavian Revolt etc.
It is recorded by his nephew, Pliny the Younger, that he barely slept, and possessed an almost inhuman ability to read, write and discourse throughout thee night. His Natural History was the world's first encyclopaedia. That a work of breadth and depth could be completed by a single man strained credulity even at the time.
The possibility that Pliny was a sensitive whose prodigious output was inspired, fueled and directed by xm seems plausible. Moreover, his decision to sail to the Eruption of Vesuvius to investigate implies he perhaps suspected an xm related cause to the explosion or, alternatively, thought that he could use an artifact to protect Pompeii.
Only time will tell but we should view the unfolding events with an eye on Pliny's history and writings. In his words, fortune favours the bold....
