I'm trying to reconcile something that is bugging me and figured the best way to do it was to put it all down, see if I can answer my own questions, and ask for opinions. So here goes.
Over the last week, I have been scouring the Niantic Files: 1-4 looking for the page document that spoke of A Detection Algorithm's backdoor. I found it in the middle of the Forth volume.

However, along the way, I stumbled upon things I had either forgotten or missed entirely, that now make much more sense. And some things led to more questions. One of those things happens to be the day H. Richard Loeb sat down at a computer and wrote the truthseeker program.
H. Richard Loeb wrote the Truthseeker program in 1997. This much has been confirmed by Mr. Loeb, himself. He accepted a job with Niantic in 2012 did help in tuning ADA with a more human-ish personality. Mr. Loeb has confirmed this as well.
What confuses me is the alternate timeline Niantic gave us during the 5 year anniversary.
Year 1 "Sometime in 2012, Richard Loeb (also known as the sleuth P.A.Chapeau) accepted an assignment to ‘tune a sentient algorithm’ by the seemingly defunct National Intelligence Agency"

And yet it seems that ADA already existed before 2010 as did Calvin's idea of who would be on his Niantic team because in Ingress' review of Year 2 and Hank Johnson ingress into the Afghanistan nest and subsequent recursion.
"This emergence of a Simulacrum sparked ADA (the Artificial Intelligence associated with the Niantic Project). She had begun to explore the human mind as a computation substrate and sought to understand the Simulacra process to create more available bodies for AI."

How much finetuning did H. Richard Loeb really have to do? Was ADA really in need it? or was she just hiding who she really was out of fear that Bowles and/or Calvin would get scared and shut her down?
