On the light of current event, like the reaction of many investigators on the last H. Richard Loeb post, and the possibility that some or many of the investigation that we have received could have been manipulated,
I would like to make an experiment/reflection here about manipulated information.
(please not that this has not real/ current relation with the
investigation, but more closely with our ability to continue the same, if you think i'm getting out of hand, please tell me and this post would be move/delete inmediatly)
I'm going to base it on a very good episode of a show i'm re-watching right now, called Babylon 5, the concrete episode is called "the illusion of truth"
The experiment is as follow, I'm going to put here one conversation of the report that was made about Babylon 5, read and if you haven't watched the tv show, say what do you think about each of the person on the interview.
After the interview, there are two links with the context and resume of the complete episode . So let's go to it:
interviewer: I see the two of you have become very close over the last few years.
Delen Yes, very.
interviewer Any truth to the rumors you might eventually marry?
Sinclair No comment, for now.
Well, as relationships go, you certainly have the odds against you.
interviewer You were both on different sides during the Minbari War and I'm sure there are other forces constantly pulling at you.
Delen Of course. But the heart does not recognize boundaries on a map or wars or political policies. The heart does as the heart does.
interviewer Then you're not concerned about the possible repercussions?
Delen It will be a struggle.
interviewer - A struggle against Earth? -
Delen Of course.
Sinclair If they don't understand, we will make them understand.
Anything that gets in the way disappears.
interviewer There are people back home who might be concerned about what you're saying. It sounds as if you're putting the mingling of human and Minbari above the safety of your own world.
Sinclair There's no force in the galaxy that can stop what we have done here together. Nothing will be able to stop us.
