"What is Klue S.'s real identity? She might be in this book!" (Ingress Origins)
"What is Klue S.'s real identity? She might be in this book!" (Ingress Origins)
Part 3 in my series of answers/polls to the questions posed by flint dille on his signed copies of Ingress Origins from Obsidian Seattle.
Klue has always been an enigma, wrapped in a mystery. From puzzling about her ontological nature as KlAda (Klue "hosting" A.D.A.), to her relationship to H. Richard Loeb, Klue has perplexed, and variously befriended, Resistance and Enlightened alike.
The prospect that she might feature in Tycho C.'s Ingress Origins is an intriguing prospect; it means Klue S. was a playing a part in things long before we were previously aware. On another level, it's a bit disturbing because, if true, it means we know far less about her than we might have thought. However, confronting the extent of our ignorance is the beginning of wisdom. Therefore, let's press on.
I personally believe that the best candidate is Katalena, the woman who witnessed the assassination of Roland Jarvis and Marla in Zurich. It puts Klue in early contact with A.D.A and helps explain her involvement in the investigation of the the Niantic Project. Also, A.D.A. uses Katalena to go on a date with H. Richard Loeb, passing a "Turing Test" of sorts. A.D.A. was clearly somewhat obsessed with passing the Turing test. In Origins, PAC tells her that the Turing Test, as originally conceived, was an inadequate test. I believe that A.D.A. decided that the ultimate, revised Turing Test would involve winning the love of a human.
The second option is Marla, the Devra Bogdanovich lookalike, who was assassinated alongside Jarvis in Zurich. Marla is a real mystery, why did A Detection Algorithm bring Marla into play at all? Did she really think she would pass as Devra? What was the point? A.D.A tells Marla that she needs her as a "surrogate" which is why she needs to go to rehab and get clean.
**I think that Marla was possessed by A.D.A., or an instance of A.D.A, when she was assassinated. Thus, A.D.A. was able to become a simulacrum at the same time as Jarvis.**
Other, perhaps less dramatic options, include the female half of the duo that stole Debra's phone on the train, the same phone that ben jackland later bought. Alternatively, there is a female student asking questions during a lecture by Devra just prior to her recruitment to the Niantic Project.
Finally, perhaps flint dille is either mistaken or deliberately muddying the waters to throw us off the trail. I don't think so but perhaps you don't wish to accept the premise of his question.
I look forward to seeing where the investigative community falls on this question and hearing your thoughts!
