After reading Andreas Decker's open letter to The Acolyte and seeing the photograph of her, that H. Richard Loeb posted, I went to investigate the location and the machine. Hank Johnson said the Acolyte had not yet made a statement regarding her Intentions but the allegory pictured might be voluminous.

The Armillary Sphere is one of the oldest known complex machines which represents celestial longitude and latitude of the sun and Earth and purportedly allows one to observe either the real motion of the earth, or the apparent motion of the heaven
Something else that stood out, was that the design was contributed to be a certain visionary named Tycho - but this was hundreds of years ago! Since the Renaissance, scientists were depicted in portraits with their hand on model armil because they represented the height of wisdom and knowledge.
What concerns me is that, symbolically, The Acolyte is not merely in-contact with this knowledge but she is holding it akin to the world on Atlas' shoulders...will she be able to endure what she now holds?
There has been a noticeable increase in activity at this portal since the photograph of The Acolyte surfaced with Enlightened agents attempting to create control fields originating from the sphere. Resistance agents are in the dark as to their goal but are attempting to slow these efforts down.
